Save us from PSE Profts! PSE—providing benefits to shareholders at the expense of rate-payers. PSE charges the highest rates in the state, for some of the worst service. What gives?

Sherri Goulet asked a question about accountability— when citizens gathered to object to the sale of Puget Sound Energy to an Investment Bank based in Australia (Macquarie Group) —the Washington State Utilities and Transportation Commission, the group responsible for regulating PSE, was unresponsive to their concerns. Given eventual county-wide operation (which might take many years, perhaps 20 or more, to achieve,) Public Utility District operations would make the WA UTC obsolete, and make the PUD accountable to the people they serve through the electoral process. Rather than relying on appointed commissioners to respond to the will of the people.
